Connections with Dambovita. Cultural Center and Museum

Authors’ Comment

The proposal aims to develop the hidden cultural aspect of the historic center by enhancing the relationship between administration and culture, specifically the City Hall with a new cultural hub in the city. Furthermore, the new proposal aims to become a landmark of Dâmbovița, a new urban space adjacent to it. The premise is to open the City Hall and the new building to the people.
The ground floor becomes an agora, an exclusively public space, with various areas and open spaces for and by the residents. The central element of the composition is the exhibition corridor that spans across all levels and becomes a unifying space, while the façade becomes the communicating element with the street, through shadows and lights, and different levels of transparency.
